Rob’s cutting sale is live but the website was showing all sold out. He is updating it now, so look now!

………
Cutting season is here. Our first frost was October 7th, and that gave us lots of time for our trees to go fully dormant! Lignified, dormant cuttings, make the best trees in the world IMO. Patience is key here, since we’re in 5b it comes early but usually not until eary December here really but not this year.
Our focus is to grow the healthiest happiest trees possible! We spare no expense on our babies and treat them like kings! They get a diet rich in aerated compost tea, high mineral rock dusts, fish, kelp, comfrey, fermented plant extracts, jadam, and local super heady organic wagyu compost. We make them biochar, and always root in FULL sun so our mother trees are supremely vigorous and fast growing. By improving our mother stock over generations, it makes for cuttings that quickly turn into large mature trees. We rooted in February last year and by July even our newly rooted black madiera was over 6’ tall and wide! Here’s a price list, I’ll also be adding them to our website.

And follow our instagram for tips on rooting, growing, feeding, and winterizing fig trees.

They will be cut fresh and shipped, which is how most all others offer their cuttings.
But If you want full processed cuttings, washed, sanitized, scrubbed, dried, then the top half is dipped in a custom made wax (3 year of testing thousands of cuttings) to help prevent dehydration of the cutting. This will add $4 to each cutting. It’s a very time intensive process. Just request “processed”, or “wax dipped” and I can accommodate. These cuttings are ready to rooted, just a fresh cut at the bottom, dip in rooting hormone (i like hormex no 8 )

I never heard of Sunrise Celeste. At first when I saw it on this list I thought that someone just renamed a regular Celeste thinking it would sell better. But I looked at the pics and it definitely doesn't look like a regular Celeste. I have to be honest, it looks awesome! The description says it's a sport of Celeste.

??? are we selling cuttings on this forum now ???
No, I have nothing to do with these sellers other than I have talked to them, and they have good reputations.

It’s just that there was an issue with one of the sales, so I had inside info when it went live and wanted to share with fig friends here, since life gets busy and I would feel bad if I missed out on a variety i really wanted, or a really good price, because I was behind the ball on (or missed) a cuttings sale.

Plus it’s fun to share excitement about getting new varieties and seeing other people’s perspectives. For example, I didn’t see some of the things that others saw - I glazed past sunrise Celeste, which I’m glad that @ETXfigs pointed out. I totally missed some of the varieties that others got. I find the whole things fun and helpful.

I appreciate recommended sources over buying on etsy or ebay, but i personally think the prices are a bit too high compared to others who sell the same..
Cold Hardy Figs is all organic and no pesticide, and super into all natural soil health, so his are going to be pricier, just like organic fruit costs more at the grocery store.

But on the flip side, Troy Priddy (Fig & Fruit) is super economical and keeps the cutting prices low enough for people to enter and stay in the hobby. That’s the other sale that I replied to someone else’s post.

Are they organic and everything else you listed above? It's not mentioned on their website, which is strange, as that would be one of their biggest selling points. To claim to be organic you need to be certified, I believe.

Not sure. He may not make the organic claim, I don’t know if he does because of the paperwork and stuff, but that man is VERY, VERY into the organic and no pesticides and all natural stuff.

Hey gang. I know everyone means well and these aren’t your own sales…. We just need to be careful we don’t start down a slippery slope.

It’s totally cool if you link to their sales elsewhere but maybe keep the full inventory and price lists off this site. If you need assistance in doing any editing please let me know

Thank you! :)

Sent you a dm because it’s not letting me edit it.

Sales have been a touchy subject in the forums. Generally people avoid posting them to keep the hobby separate from the business side of the fig world. In the past I’ve seen things get tricky when sales get posted and there’s a problem and then people start resolving it in the forum but it can get ugly… etc.

Sales can be very touchy. But I hope everyone here can post about a sale and talk about it. In a good manner. Without drama. It is after all about enjoying the hobby. Is it not?

yeah I don’t mind them. I also don’t mind when customers speak out when they have bad experiences with sellers—I think it’s those times when things can get interesting though lol if the sellers comes out and fights back 😂. Ultimately it’s for the mods to decide what to do, I have my popcorn 🍿 ready 👍

We can post about a sale. The sale just cant take place here. I know... it's a fine line. We want this to be a place where everyone can feel free to discuss whatever, but experience has taught us that we need to be careful..... because this is a discussion group and a community.... and not a marketplace.

Situations like that are the most unpleasant part of what we have to do. Thankfully it never goes that far here... I hope, because we're careful

Save the popcorn for the sales. :)
