Legit Air-layering Avocado video?

I'd like to believe this video is real, but something tells me it was rooted in soil and then rinsed.

What does the gang think?[video=youtube]

I finally bought a Haas Avocado today. My friend at the nursery was kind enough to take me and my kids on a golf cart ride and try various fruits including pomegranates and persimmons.

I hope to get some avocados next year.

I've tortured myself trying to grow olives and citrus here... why not throw in avocado... Dio mio!   It doesn't seem like the most productive way to do a layer but perhaps....

Also, do you have a pic of that Haas actually in the car? I'd pay money for video of you getting it in there  :D

My daughter sat in the front seat for the first time in her life on the mile trip home, she’s been able to for 2 years now. My son had to sit in her spot. It was a big ordeal 😂 . No picture of the tree but I’ve done worse. I have a truck but I like to push the limits.

I grew up right across from a huge olive orchard. We used to have olive fights. My hometown was once the world’s largest olive grove. It was owned by an Italian family.

Back home they're very respected. They grow slow and rarely cut down if at all possible. On the road up to our place when they paved part of the road and they poured the curb around the olive tree so it wouldn't be disturbed.

I am not sure I believe this video. 80 something days seems pretty long to keep a cutting and unchanged water. I would more likely believe a smaller cutting with half cut leaves in root Riot cubes or some sort of a avocado fig pop or transparent cup and lid method. A air layer with 50/50 peat moss, and coco minimally moistened would have done better. Not sure I believe this was a successful water air layer but if you look at the leaves and the new growth it was the perfect time of the year to do it successfully. I absolutely believe avocados can be propagated by cutting or air layer at the time of year represented in the video.
