Last fig of the year for me :(

Last fig of the year this year is a partially developed BNR from the greenhouse. Based on the outside of the fig looking less than half way to ripe, I was expecting the inside to be almost inedible. Fortunately, it was actually excellent with a very strong berry taste. Interesting looking fig with the pretty dark green stripes BNR has before it fully ripens, while the interior did almost fully develop. It also got a lot less water than normal, because I havn't checked on the greenhouse figs much lately.

A few days ago, I transitioned my greenhouse into its winter phase. For me that means turning the heat down to just keep the greenhouse above about 30F, and turning the exhaust fan to kick on as soon as the temperatures go above 50f (spring through fall it is set to come on at 85f)

The ones on the blue plate were ones that hadn't started to swell at all and had to be pulled off. Inside was completely undevelloped.

Wow, if I didn’t see the purpling on the bottom and you hadn’t said otherwise, I would totally swear those were perfectly ripened Panachee. 😃

Well, the end has come. Goodbye 2024 season, may 2025 be even better.

Your photos have been gorgeous this year! I have to say, you’ve totally inspired me to up my picture taking. I kind of suck at photos, but I’m going to try harder to make them more… pleasant? Lol

I thought the same thing... i ripened fruit off the same plant that fully darkened up last year... The greenhouse can make the coloring odd and kight at times too, but in this case it seems to be the fact that it was so late abd cold

Thanks for sharing but I too thought due to the yellow color it was a panache. Sorry it was your last but it looked delicious.
