I was patiently waiting for this two to ripen.
The first one I letvit hang a few days longer. The second one I picked a little premature. None of this two tasted good.
I will give the breba one more chance to produce breba, if they will turn out like this two, I will prune for main crop only.
I am a little disappointed.

That is a bummer, I had similar experiences with a few this year.
Appearance wise they seemed to be really good...but no flavor.

Hope future ones turn out better.

Do you have main crop on the tree? and what area you live in? I asking because I am wanting for my 1st I-258 its main crop though and not sure how it will taste in my region

The 2 I258 Breba I had this year were amazing. Way better than other years. That’s what you get with Breba. You never know. IMO at least

Do you have any thoughts as to why they might not have been as good as usual?

I can't think of many breba that can hold up against a main crop fig.... The really good figs are soon to come! :)

Yes there are main crop figs on the tree. It is it's third season.
Zone 7b started this season, it use to be zone 6.

I know what you mean. I am thinking that something went wrong, but don't know what ! It was It's first breba, and usually they are not that great. The second one would've been good if I let it ripen longer. Not a biggie, like you said, lots of great figs are to come.

I kept no breba this year so I haven't eaten a single fresh fig yet. Likely in a couple weeks.... Fingers crossed! :)
