Checking on my grafts from last year, I am amazed by how the I-258 grow in just 3 months. The graft was a tiny 2” and last year barely stayed alive with few leafs and thats it, I thought it may not survive the winter but it did. This spring started very slow way behind the other verities and then since last month Boom! Not only grew 4 or 5 strong branches 2’ in length but it started having figlets , I was contemplating removing them because they were way late coming up and behind the other verities to help the branches to grow but decided to keep them, I looked today and seems while the other verities figs although large but not growing as fast. Now the I-258 figs seems to be catching up, they are larger than a quarter and I think they may actually ripe this season since our warm weather just starting! Exciting!!!!’
