I258 ripening time

So many great reviews on the I258 fig. I will start a cutting when they become available.
I was always concerned it may not finish without a lengthy head start in Mississauga Ontario.
I do a fig shuffle each spring but that may not be enough. How much of a head start in a small greenhouse would it require ?

From my experience, 102-105 days from pea-size figlet to full ripening. 50 days from dormant state to first figlet formation, 70-75 days to a significant number of figlets formed. These numbers will vary depending on ambient temps and other factors. This variety tastes great in July-August, OK-ish after Labor day. It needs plenty of sun and warmth to shine.

Also curious about this! Would you need to start it in April indoors to give it a big head start in order to get any significant figs?

Oak has far more experience with this topic. Based on mine, I would encourage an early start no later than first week of March for zone 6b - MA.
If all goes well, this should allow a full harvest -almost- by end of September.
I-258 is such a great fig, I am considering building a fancy enclosure for an in ground tree.
Further, for me, I-258 proved to be an earlier fig than BMKK & Martinenca Rimada; two other figs that I like a lot.
