All this garden talk really has me missing my grandfather. He would do acres of gardens every year. He had multiple gardens…lol. I was raised on that garden food.
I look forward to seeing you install the greenhouse on your YT channel round about ... oh ... October.Tomatoes were my gateway drug to figs! Lol!!! I’m gonna need a real green house next year!!

I am going to add your weather to my WL.I am trying to avoid up potting! Lol!! I was so excited last season I started about 4 weeks too early and in too small of trays. I had to up pot twice! This year I am trying not to do that again! I only see 2 nights in the mid 40s coming so I think I am going to start as soon as those nights pass this week! It’s go time!!

Yea cucurbits sprout and grow so fast!! I have learned to just wait until April and direct sow. They will be producing my mid May then I succession sow another round to pick up when the first ones play out. Worked perfectly last year. We will see how that works this year! Lol!!Yeah im way behind on squash my little trays have male flowers already but I had to prioritize in front of those.. im thinking I will just stick them somewhere and let them grow wild style

Planting outside in Idaho already? You guys are making me feel behind even though I know I’m not. Just planted out some 14 varieties of tomatoes and 5 varieties of peppers yesterday. I’m going to try some okra too, but waiting to start those as I don’t think they’ll tolerate the cool weather as much. I wonder if I’ll be the only dude in the Idaho panhandle growing okra.
Planting outside in Idaho already?
I started peppers a few days ago, tomatoes will be this week, calendulas and marigolds next week, carrots and beets the following week direct sown in the garden and ending with pumpkins, cucumbers, zinnias and castor beans the last week in March. If all goes well everything to be transplanted first week of May.
Wow! These are gorgeous tomatoes, peppers, and figs - ALL are BEAUTIES!!!Yall I started my tomatoes and peppers late this year so I would not have to deal with them getting too big or up potting like I had last year. Well, this year I decided I would fertilize after the first true leaves formed!! Welllllll….. I need to get these in the ground! Only one night in the upper 40s in forecast. I think it is time for tomatoes.
In one of his recent videos he mentions he tops with perlite.Wow! These are gorgeous tomatoes, peppers, and figs - ALL are BEAUTIES!!!
White stuff on the top of thd pots - perlite?
Thank you!! You are correct. I had a lot of issues with damping off last year. This year topped with perlite and zero losses. The seedlings pushed right the no problem!Wow! These are gorgeous tomatoes, peppers, and figs - ALL are BEAUTIES!!!
