Ischia Black is the most fmv-ridden variety I know of. I grafted it on a strong rootstock and it’s been 3 years now and the leaves are still misshapen and tiny. It has no issue with vertical growth but the weird leaves causes it to set figs very late. I have a long season, so I still get ripe figs but they are so late.
Full disclosure that I got cuttings from a well known figger and he got his from Harvey, which should be healthier. This is not to call anyone out, but really to say that luck is a big part of growing this variety.
I got a healthy specimen this spring that I planted in the ground and already set figs 2 weeks back, which is rather early for this variety.
