I just received the news of hurricane Milton a category 5 hurricane due to strike Tampa Bay, a possible direct hit on Sarasota. This hurricane Milton is a huge extreme weather event, it will likely stay a hurricane has it crosses Central Florida. God save our members families, and Friends in the direct path of this hurricane.Hurricane

Hurricane Milton kept tracking eastward as a powerful Category 5 storm on Monday night and the forecast shows it on a path to hit Florida's Gulf Coast mid-week. The storm was moving at 9 miles per hour over warm waters in the Gulf of Mexico and had maximum sustained winds of 165 mph, the National Hurricane Center said.

"This is an extremely life-threatening situation & residents should follow advice given by local officials & evacuate immediately if told to do so," the hurricane center warned residents.

@"JMF75"#5 . I completely agree, this is likely the Storm of the Century. This is not the hurricane to try and ride out in your house. Also with 12 ft Storm surges emergency personnel are not going to be able to save the many people at risk.

Could somebody in hurricane country please take over this thread? I'm a California boy I just happened to be up late last night. I wouldn't know how to insert a hurricane map into a post. Maybe @"ktrain"#2  could take over reporting on this... ((please))
