Her Purple Martian Majesty

I took the opportunity to root Fig Gazers Purple Martian Fig . FIG Gazer gave a couple of cuttings to @TorontoJoe, and @ktrain I was lucky enough to get a couple cuttings as well. On the off chance that I might have rooted the first cutting I gave it the name above. Her Purple Martains Majesty... if it turns out to be the opposite then perhaps a male sirname... @GoodFriendMike received 4 cuttings so if he wishes another name I will withdraw mine.

Another amazing fig gazer find. It's some type of common hybrid from Vietnam I believe. It was carried for a long time by a local commercial Santa Barbara Nursery. It was planted around town, Phil started calling it The Martian Fig. As soon as the mods, and administrator heard the backstory they wanted some cuttings. As soon as I heard the backstory I wanted a couple cuttings as well. @Kid Fig as soon as I can get a cutting to you I will certainly send you one.

Appreciate the offer!

BTw is this one "breed-able" with Carica?

If you didn’t say it’s a fig tree and just posted the picture and ask “can you guess what this is?” I would have guessed a rubber tree plant. That’s what the leaves remind me of. Congratulations to those rooting it. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
There was a total of 10 cuttings given out to the mods, and administrator TJ, as well as myself. I believe this variety is likely to be with us for quite some time. So those who want to try to grow it will have that chance. Perhaps it will be one of many good reasons that @Figgerlickinggood will build herself a greenhouse someday soon.
