Soil for my garden beds. Really good soil. Came from a place where they grow mushrooms. Costs more than other soil but it’s a good quality soil. As he was putting it into my beds I was amazed just how dark the soil was. Anyway those tomato and pepper plants that are recovering from the cold are going in tomorrow. @TorontoJoe can those giant basil seeds be planted directly into the soil or do I need to start them in pots? Think I’m going to try growing some zucchini this year.

Mushroom compost is excellent stuff. I don't think you'll be dissapointed.

You can direct sow the basil seeds but I always start mine inside where it's warmer. Also the seedlings are pretty delicate so they're easily damaged when small. When the plant gets mature it develops a nice thick stock.

Are you familiar with how to prune basil to loads of folliage? If not let me know. When I learned how it made my plants so thick and full.

I found this video on YouTube. You might like it he’s growing his basil in water in a big trash can.

Nice bushes! :) I just pinch the stems on mine right about above the second-third set of true leaves and they bush out like crazy, then pinch thew new growth again after a few sets of leaves. They key is to keep pruning/pinching regularly, constantly encouraging new growth, which leads to branching out and a bushier plant.

Yeah mushroom soil / compost is the best around, I always use it in my soil mix unless they sell out haha then I’ll use leaf compost. Goodluck with the plants, seems like you’ll have a great season! :)
