What can I say, probably the best fig of the year. Super sweet, jammy, grape type flavor. Beautiful too!

Nice one man. One of your finds I would assume?

Thanks. Yessir. This is a seedling I tracked on Google streets.

For the record, I won’t be keeping Geno #1 and a bunch of others I found. I’ll make a list one day of the varieties I keep.

Seems a few people have collected your finds. And are trialing them. Some seem to be doing very well outside of wasp area. I look forward to seeing your keep list. :)

Look at that!

It has cracks and sounds real good - don't stop hunting seedlings there @Figology !

LOL! That was funny - do scars and cigarette burns increase your heart rate?

I take it by the name Grizzly its a large fig

I named it Grizzly so I could easily identify where I found it. It’s more of a mnemonic, but surprisingly the fig can get huge. I haven’t noticed any splitting yet.

Wow! Looks good! And best fig of the year...great endorsement. I hope it continues to prove itself. Oh, and I hope it is common.

I think it will be common. I had one uncaprified Grizzly this year. Very sweet but didn’t have the red pulp look too it. I don’t sell figs and I’m sometimes brutally honest, so best fig to me is important. I recall Grizzly being best fig of the year in 2023, that time the fig partially dried on the tree and was near godly.  There’s a post of it on OF somewhere.

That looks like a winner Anthony.
I nearly got to try 2 FiaTeo figs, but a raccoon got them before they were fully ripe.

Dirty bugers.

I’ve only had a couple in the past 3 years since I found it. Animals love it and it splits easily. I had one this morning that was pretty good. Leaves a thick syrup coating on the tongue.

Unpollinated is quite a unique and refreshing treat. It has more of a peach colored flesh than when caprified.
