Green figs preserves - Delicious

Winter is almost here and rather than chunk the green figs in the compost pile, collect, boil, and preserve them in a sugary syrup.

Check out this recipe.

I believe Evan is either a figfanatic and/or OF member.

It is time consuming but the end result will be very rewarding.

They make this with unripe Caprifig's as well. Good way not to waste a lot of figs.

I was thinking the fig and syrup can be used in an old fashioned cocktail. Muddle the figs and pour in rye whiskey for added spice and bam, I’m getting drunk tonight.

Today I went out and removed all figs from all trees.
I kept a small amount to try this recipe.
For hard green fig, these aren't too bad at all.

Though I used Monk Fruit sugar...they are a bit too sweet, but good.
