The older companies are reliable and their following is loyal usually... for the most basic seeds I feel good when I shop the older names ... I did around 4 or 5 varieties of Radishes from Shumways.. a company that is new to me but with old roots ...my old radish seeds still pop and so they last for years... and its a good time to stock up...plus I get a fairly good amount of seeds for the $$$ and before the packs go higher than $5 per packet
im not a fan of a couple of the largest seed companies but mostly due to dealings involving live plants... even though i tend to avoid them, I sure get alot of mail order catalogs! Even from some I didnt hear about before ... I wonder how they make money sending me so many catalogs??!
when I used to do marketing pieces for business, to even hit 1000-2000 or 3000 ppl was fairly expensive..somehow Shumways found me and figured out I would be getting seeds and I was suddenly on the list this year lol but they had one gotta have it item and the stars aligned
Baker really does take the cake on presentation, alot more vested into catchy entertainment... do we have reviews after the fact???? They blow it away on presentation frankly, but they have alot of newer and harder to find stuff too, which is good, that is a great service in fact to make them available... what will matter is if they are true to seed, germ rates, matching descriptions. The packets do look professional and they seem to have their hearts in it
