Teresa how are your fig trees that you had transplanted. Did they survive?, and are they recovering from being dug up, and moved to the new location? I have been very curious about their fate.

Mine too, they have been a bit neglected since the season is winding down.
Last night we were hit pretty good with rain.
Today I think we are supposed to get more.

They’re all doing well.  They’re in pots for now.  Will overwinter in the shed and replanted inground in spring.

Rain?  What is this mysterious precipitation you reference?

In NJ, we have not had any measurable rain since early September.  I have never seen it so dry at this time of year.   Several reservoirs are nearing 30% capacity.

I wish I had a little bit of rain. I dismantled my irrigation system after getting rid of half of my pots. It's been laborious to try to keep them adequately hydrated.

That system was supposed to move right over us... Just got a few drops. The garden is largely down and the irrigation system away for the winter but the carrots, broccoli and cauliflower could use a drink

Last night when I went out to close up the chickens, in the flashlight beam I could see a super fine mist still going, you couldn't even feel it. lol
I believe we are clear of rain until next Monday.

I really want chickens

@"ktrain"#2 @"TorontoJoe"#1 I also would love to have chickens but not allowed here at my new house because it's in the city.  Could've had them at my other house but only 4 allowed.

I have about 30, 5 of those are young roosters that will become dinner before long.

But ... That many chickens are a pain in the assprin.
Having that fresh eggs makes it worth it I suppose. Lol
