Giant marshmallow or … ?

@"Figocean"#13 WOW what a beautiful giant mushroom. I've always been a little scared of wild mushrooms so I looked it up for you. LOL not that you needed me to....

The giant puffball (Calvatia gigantea) is a white, smooth mushroom that can grow to the size of a soccer ball. It's a puffball mushroom that's commonly found in meadows, fields, and deciduous forests in late summer and autumn. The giant puffball is edible and has a rich, earthy, and nutty taste. It can be fried in oil with batter. However, it's only considered a choice edible with caution

I guess the caution is you have to eat them when they're young before they start showing gills or have any color but creamy white. I cannot imagine eating a giant puffball the size of a soccer ball. It's a world Traveler and lives in temperate climates the world round. So Toronto Joe is absolutely right he can have them where he is in Canada, and it's the same mushroom. LOL okay now that I know you're safe to eat this mushroom as big as your head I can go to sleep peacefully.

Wow...excellent specimen!
I remember running around finding those for my mother when I was a wee lad.
Don't see them around here, bummer.
