MAn this past month things have started to fry in the heat, figs are dropping, leaves are crispy, some yellowing and dropping. What a bummer, im trying to save them with shade cloths and extra water in the evening.

Now i know how you guys feel when you get drowned in rain storms out east.

Just needed to vent, i hope i dont loose any trees, or if i do just a small number!

I am in GA and we had rain for a few weeks and now extreme heat. My trees are like yours even with afternoon shade and daily watering. I have lost a few of this year's rooted cuttings which is a bummer after all that time I babied them along.

Last year I had the same happened to my fig tree and worst because the tree aborted all the figs, in my case it was because under watering as I was watering it by hand coupe times a week. This year I fixed my drip line early and since March I have been soaking it with water every night and now the tree is flourishing. Best of luck but don’t give up and try to do things differently next year if this season ending being a loss. my lesson learned that I have to start early in the season to increase the water, seems to work thus far

I was under watering too. As the summer heat kicked in, I was still watering them the same as I did in the spring. Trees were wilting and growth stalled. The rooted cuttings, I was moving into the shade for a few hours during the hottest time of the day. As soon as I doubled the amount of water I was giving them, they stopped wilting and started growing again. The rooted cuttings stay out in the sun all day now. The only downside will be the water bill.

Youve given me an idea to add second drippers to the trees, thanks.

I mean i already increased the drip lines to the summer schedule for the property but i guess for whatever reason its not sufficient for the fig tees this year, frustrating.

Im going to increase and add more shade cloths and pray!
