First ever Green Ischia

I’m blown away how good this is for being November 23rd. Very soft and nicely sweet. Slightly thicker skin, but not like I-258 or BMKK. I am looking forward to these figs in the coming years. No bird or other pest pressue (skin is green like an unripe fig) and a tight closed eye despite the rain of 2 days ago. These came off a 3’ tall, in ground tree.

Did I mention that it’s freakin’ November 23rd?! Dang…

That is a very good fig, I didn't keep it though.
I had so many green ones I had to let some go...you might make me regret that decision. lol

As a group, the "Adriatic" figs are under-rated. Some say BM or BM KK is the king of fig. Not so IMO. BM is good. But in my yard it is behind I-258 and a few others. And BM is late.

Green Ischia is one of the earliest Adriatic figs. Excellent flavor. The entire Adriatic fig group has no weakness.

Here is a Green Ischia.

That's really hot! Especially since I know I'm not eating another fresh fig until I get to Italy in the summer 🤤
