FIRST BLACK FIG FLYS OF THE YEAR !!!

HAD a couple warm sunny days after last weeks rain and THERE BACK !!! Grafting some LOMPOC PROLIFIC on some inground trees around 2pm this afternoon and had several BFF land on the fresh cuts to drink sap . NOT the best results for those individual flys ! But let the fly wars begin ! Will go out and cut some branches and sit and swat flys til they quit visiting ,maybe not that efective but good fig theropey .

Are those nasty critters not drawn in by bug zappers?
I know they don't work on all insects.

Not to hijack the thread but since you brought it up Kevin I was wondering has anyone had good results using bug zappers for fungus gnats indoors.

I used some really small ones I got on Amazon some years ago.
They did help a lot.
Between that and the yellow sticky pads from figbid was pretty effective.
I believe Danny sells them on there.

NO ! Nothing that simple .not a easy nut to crack ! Thanks for thinking about it though .

So far sent 43 BFF to fly hell ,with the cut a leaf and clap hands above there landed selves ,best clap got 5 at once .also catching some in mcferson type trap baited with water and cut up leaves and twigs ,BFF seems very hungry when first emerging ! Trying cut twig wraped in fly paper ,some landing but not all sticking ?
