I recently caught up with Finn Kjellberg, he has written/co written many papers on figs, and gave me access to all of his papers including this really good book. I will add more papers here over the next day or so.

Here's another good one ...in fact it is brilliant, from Finn and others, but the pages at about 35 to 38 from memory are not our wasp Blastophaga Psenes. It is mentioned, but a lot of people miss reading it.

I believe now, that once we reach a certain point, we need the field trips and hands on stuff, but the well written studies from very prominent people like Finn can only be a big plus, and almost all of it is open access.

I rely now mainly on what I see. But it is good to go back and read to see what others observed.
Sometimes there is something you missed that may have been written about in the past.
One of these days I need to take a field trip to Cali. Until then I will keep doing what I am doing.
