Fignomenal Fig Tree

Looking for suggestions on why my 1 year old Fignomenal Fig Tree doesn't have any fruit buds.
It finally grew a lot of leaves this year (looks like a lollipop on top of leaves). Very thin trunk.
Does anyone have experience in growing one of these? I kept it in the garage over the winter along
with all of my other potted fig trees. The tag says that you can get figs all year long, indoors and outdoors.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I am on year 2 with mine, of course first year (when it was ordered) it came in the mail as a 6" wee plant.
So it didn't put a lot of growth on until this year.
Also last year it tried to make 1 fig but it dropped.

I believe this year it has 2 or 3...I haven't looked at it lately.
Letting it grow how it want's too....may prune end of season, not sure yet.

They are reported to be slow growers.

Edit....now that I went and took a pic it feels like some may drop. (spongy)
But there are about 8 figs on it now.

Wow Kevin, yours looks better than mine. I think I had one tiny fig last year and it dropped.
But here in NJ a few miles away from the coast near Point Pleasant Beach, we had a terrible hot and drought full summer. A lot of my fig trees slowed production.
This summer, so far we have had so much rain, and so much heat.
Can't win for a happy medium.

Thank you Kevin, at least I am not the only one that has a tree like this.

Oh, Kevin, I forgot to ask you - did you fertilize your Fignomenal Fig Tree? If so what did you use?

Thanks,

Yes I have been since the beginning.
When it was really small I just diluted the mix 1 to 1.
I mix 4 5g buckets to get all my trees done.
Using Jacks 20 20 20, and a bit of epsom salt....every other time I add some fish emulsion.
But I'll dip out a bit from one bucket and put as much water in it to dilute it.

Now of course it just gets fed right from the bucket.
Hope that helps.

Took three years to get fruit from mine. Part of me believes the tree stays small because they are tissue culture in the beginning. I’ve propagated cuttings and put in ground. The original tree is still small but the new trees are identical to the Chicago hardy I’m growing. Pinch off lower buds to focus energy towards the growth points you want for more reliable fruiting for sure.

Thank you superdave 336.
I am sure it will be a very slow grower.

Should I overwinter it in the garage (attached), instead of leaving it in the house.
I put it in the garage last year and it finally came back with more leaves on top.
