Fig wasp/BFF map.

As most people probably know now, I have been working on a Caprifig tree/Fig wasp/BFF map for some time now. It started where I am, and I recently expanded it to cover the fig world. If anyone has anything to add, just message me, or respond here, and I will add it.
The map is here....https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/1/edit?mid=15aAp3no1ZoS2Jt78t6l771N9CylY4Mc&ll=4.969210465856875%2C117.35034685000002&z=3

That map is progressing nicely.
Very cool informational tool.

I was fortunate enough to see the wasp in person here in Georgia...having been sent some caprifigs from California.
I cut them open and the wasps just started crawling all over, pretty neat!
Unfortunately they would never survive here through the winter.

@"ktrain" I wonder if they could survive in your area. Maybe a area sheltered from the wind. Has a lot of stones that heat up during the day and hold heat somewhat in the night. Concrete does the same thing. If there is an area a Capri could thrive than you very well could have wasp. It is interesting to think about. Just thinking as usual. :)

You know I could heat the greenhouse.
But I would need to get some capri growing better than what I have now to make it worth it.
Might have to try....never know. :)

Perhaps get Hershell to put up a new fig greenhouse!

There are a few people that are working on setting up houses for the wasp in many states. And at least one person in Texas is planting many Capri in a attempt to sustain a colony. But I find the trees need age to produce correctly. I think it will be an interesting next few years. Lets see how many pull it off. :)

Rob. Is that map something we can create a link for now?
Mike. If you wish you can link the map at the top and sticky the thread.

Still getting a hang of this format. Does the link work for you?

Unfortunately it has never worked, and I think things like that and pdf's need to be allowed in the admin control panel.

I love what's happening in this part of the site. I'm a pedestrian who can grow a common fig tree but this is outstanding material in the capri section.Thank you. I'm learning so much... Very cool

I have a google map, I'll find the link.  It needs updating but might work for now.

I am planting capri figs in S. AR and have about 1500 sf with floor to ceiling south facing glass for them in the winter.

Finding "clean" sources for the wasp seems the primary issue.  I'm not ready for them yet and it may become more difficult/dangerous soon, although comments about timing, etc. have made me more optimistic.
