It seems to me that Ficus Carica started off as only Caprifig. The Caprifig is capable of supporting the wasp. Producing pollen and producing viable seed. It is the only fig with both male and female flowers. Sometimes it even has long style flowers. Which some assume are only in true female figs. Not so. Will add more later. Thoughts?
