This variety has a closed eye and is rain resistant. It has a long stem and the ripening fig can hang straight down helping with shedding rain. It has a medium berry flavor and light seed crunch.

I think Ross was comparing Verdolino and Mario's Salame. They are more alike flavor wise but Salame is much bigger

I tasted them both this summer. They are quite different. Verdolino is smaller and has a more intense Berry flavor. Salame is larger and more mild flavor. Verdolino on the Left, Fico Salame on the Right.

the one on the right looks more like Mario's Salame #240
