“Earliest” Adriatics

Always on the hunt for “early” Adriatic-ish types. Have had WM 1 (reliable/lateish), Verdolino (small/less intense taste), and Green Michurinska (only con=small), and a couple more I’m forgetting. Increased size is a plus as well ability to taste decent as cooler weather rolls around. I’m rooting Euclid Unknown as a contender this year. Also looking at picking up Green Goblin and Vince #3. Let me know if I should be looking at others. Btw ripening by 2-3 weeks earlier is worth it to me because our temps drop fairly abruptly in fall.

I'm not sure how early it is but I had some ripe adriatics in early september this year off Adriatic JH, first year with the tree though so not sure if this is typical.

Astoria Green is on par with White Madeira #1 and looks to be a little earlier.
Pratt Street UNK is a top shelf Adriatic, my tree is only second year so still figuring out mature ripening window.

I have not grown Nichadam Haven but in the description at OTBP it says "Large Adriatic that is early ripening". I don't know if that means early ripening, or early for an Adriatic. I bought one of the cuttings before they sold out.

DCallahan, What do you know about Astoria Green? I have one and know very little about it.
My friend @WVMJack was singing its praises at our local cutting swap, and handing out free cuttings. I rooted a few last winter and then this summer I had the opportunity to buy his 5 +/- year old mothertree. I brought it home in early October placed in next to a similar aged WM#1, both great quality fruit and production. The Astoria Green finished all of its fruit before the hard freeze came while the White Mad. #1 still had a notable number of fruits hanging in the tree. This coming Spring both of these gorgeous trees Jack grow will get a greenhouse headstart, fertigation and a slightly warmer climate to live in.

NH is a large Adriatic type, not early in general but early for the type

Blanche de Duex saison and Angelito both fruit earlier than white madeira ( for me ). NV1 is also really good. And I would say green Michurinska is a decent size fig if you give it some time.

Oooh, excellent topic!
I am looking forward to everyone’s feedback.

That’s awesome that you were able to get a tree that is already producing mature tasting fruit and that it finishes its crop so quickly!

May I ask how you would describe Astoria Green’s flavors?

Would you say that Astoria green is on par for flavor with WM#1?

Sorry to ask so many particular questions, but I love Adriatics, and I am keen to find any that would do well in my humid 6B part of PA.

Hearing you say that they will be getting bumped up into an upgraded growing environment and conditions made me chuckle to myself, because I say things to my indoor plants like, “You did well this year, you earned yourself a fancy pot! (Not just the growers pot) 😆

I have a habit of doing the opposite. Told one tree if it didn’t produce I was going to beat it with a broom. The figs came late, but it produced!
