Different looks

Ok so I posted about my last De la Roca fig, and I seen some others.
They did not all look the same.
Now I got my tree from someone I consider to be a very reliable source, if anyone remembers Jamie from the other forum.
She was a mod over there and the sweetest lady.
The leaves I have seen on other trees match, some figs do others don't.
So who knows if it's just climate, or do some have the wrong variety?
I notice my leaves are more like Harvey's tree, but the figs are different shape.
More like a Calderona.....hm
It was raining so I took the pics at a distance...from inside my garage. lol

@"ktrain"#2  Kevin It's commonly believed in CA that Harvey's Orchard is almost completely caprified. You're never going to grow fruit in Georgia like his. Even if you buy all of your cuttings from him directly. ((I invite input on this post)).

That is very true, I never expect my figs to look like his...at least on the inside.
But when it dome to shape and sometimes color, I can see similarities.

I have never had any fig come out like his even when I pollinated by hand. lol

I wish I had one to compare it to. Nice lobes!

I can certainly send you some cuttings. :)

@"ChesapeakeFigs"#78 . I just had to say your figs look beautiful, simply amazing looking fruit, and trees. @"MiaD"#88 your trees, and fruit look simply wonderful as well. I'm green with Envy.

@"ktrain"#2 . Kevin you've been really quiet. Do you still have an internet connection? How are you doing with that hurricane for a neighbor? How is the greenhouse holding up?? I'm worried for you young moderator, please check in with us when you get a spare minute.

It could be climate differences, or differences in the amount of sun.  Mine doesn't get a ton of direct sunlight.  Also, this is this trees first year fruiting.  Yours looks like a great fig too though.  My DLR flavor was awesome this year, especially for its first few fruit

What ever the heck this one is it has great flavor. :D
I've never got one from Jamie that was wrong in being true to variety, but there is always a chance I suppose.
I'll be keeping it around.
Maybe check in next year and see what they look like then.

So far so good Greg, tomorrow is supposed to be the really bad one, I'm going to brace the greenhouse. UGH
Thanks for checking in :)

Mine is a 5’ first year whip. Lost about 1/3 of the lower, first leaves to rust. All of the remaining are like the photo.

Is that your only leaf shape Mia?
Our figs & leaf look different.

@"ChesapeakeFigs"#78

So our leaves look the same but the figs are way different, interesting...hm
Your figs seem more on line of what 90% of dlr pics look like.

I don't think you have a De La Roca Kevin. If I was to guess I would say Bourjasotte Noire. Just a guess.

@"JMF75"#5

I am thinking this isn't dlr too after seeing a lot of other pics and videos.
May have to get a hold of Jamie if she is still around, maybe she sent me something else by mistake.
This is the first year I have got to eat figs from it, first year it didn't fruit and last year the blew up in the rain.
Whatever it is...it's mighty tasty! :)

Most likely an honest mistake. I don't know if she's around. She didn't have her sale last year at least not that I know of.

Nope...I waited for her email of the sale start but never got one.
I does look a lot like BN though, you may be right about that.
I think I have her list somewhere....see if it's on there.
