Crema di Fragola From Pot

Potted harvests, 7a Virginia. Crema di Fragola gave me its first fig of the season yesterday (no picture). Its second one was today, and had a little dry spot at the eye that didn’t interfere with the flavor. They were VERY sweet with strong strawberry jam overtones. I could sense some rhubarb as advertised too. The other three were Sumard - also sugary Strawberry bombs, but with some acidity and tartness to them - they were starting to dry on the tree and were starting to leak nectar. Beautiful fig in my opinion. IMG_9671.jpegIMG_9670.jpegIMG_9669.jpegIMG_9664.jpegIMG_9661.jpegIMG_9659.jpeg

I have gotten a few figs off my first year crema di frogola and even for a small first year tree the figs are delicious. Mine have been small figs but very good. Yours look great.

The fist fig, and upcoming figs are large ~50 grams I guess. I’ll weigh the next one. This one with the dry spot was about 1/2-2/3 the size of the others. Good luck with yours!

I got one fruit on my tree last year albeit late and inside my house because I was determined to ripe the fig it had. Excited to see how this one performs this year

Wow, 50 grams!? I wasn't sure how big these get do that makes me happy to hear. Does yours want to grow like a bush, putting up tons of suckers ? That's the only problem I'm having with it right now. It's in a small 3 gallon out, has horrible fmv then I fertilized really well and watered everyday and it grew out of it for the most part. I wouldn't mind the bush habit but I don't have a huge yard and I want to put it in the ground, but I'm planting the figs about 2 ft apart so a single leader from the ground would be best.

Anyways keep us updated, I have more figs on my tree, so I'm excited for them to ripen up I'll post more pictures of those. I have 3-4 other varieties from Lee Ann of sacred origin, but I never up potted them and now I wish I would've done that back in the early spring so I could've maybe tried those too. I hope they are delicious without the wasp like this one is. I'm rooting watermelon rush ATM and I hope they take because I've tried to root another 5-6 varieties of sacred origins cuttings, but I rotted them because of fig gnat infestations. Have you tried any of her other varieties?

I don’t have that much experience with SO’s cultivars. I like to wait on those because of the chance they may not be common. And, like you said, I want figs that are great uncaprified. Its growth habit seems like it would be trainable as a bush or single leader, like most fig trees. I like that it branches without too much fuss.

It was decent yes. My cuttings came from Fighunter and not sacred origin. I don’t know if there’s a difference, I was always told it’s the same source.
Yes, from what I understand it's the same fig. Think they both found it, but one found it before the other and it was originally under two names so they have it the name that the original finder gave it which was sacred origins I THINK, not positive. Great fig so far
