Cool way to see a forest…

Foraging has brought me so much knoweldge of our woods and such. Much of our forest is old oak scrub forest, tons of lowbush blueberries, almost entirely oak trees. Has great honey mushrooms and occasionally chicken of the woods.
Further out east its all pine scrub. Frequent burns means theres morels in the spring and its a totally different ecosystem.

Just being able to identify plants is fun. I love harvesting garlic mustard and helping kick down some invasives and enjoy a tasty salad. Its probably the thing i forest for most since it is soooo abundant here. right up there with autumn olive and wineberry.
