Col de Dame Blanc...another last

Yet again another last of the season for CdDB.
I almost didn't even see this one until this morning.
Under a leaf and ready to fall off.
Taste was very good and oddly the skin was not as thick as they usually are toward the end of the season.
I don't get a lot from this tree, why I have kept it all these years I don't know. lol
It was my first CDD, sentimental? :D
Small, thick pulp, deep berry like flavor...I'll keep it one more year. :)

@"ktrain"#2 . End of the season Col de Dame Blanc. Sounds, and looks delicious Kevin. I know you're keeping it for sentimental reasons, but there might be a better phenotype of this variety for you that would be more productive, and vigorous. Congratulations for growing, and ripening such a beautiful late season fig.

Cdds are special treats for the end of the season. Once you taste one you know why it's worth keeping at least one variety. Did this one get a headstart ?

No head start this year, well...sort of.
All of my trees were stored in that pop up green house that got blown over.
So maybe they got a bit of an early start in there.

I did have others but chose to reduce my late varieties.
Might still try Noir and Mutante....maybe. lol

True man...I'm going to keep it one more year, see how it does.
I neglected all my trees this year out of sheer business.
I need to do better. :)

This reply ended up in the wrong place. lol
