Coco chips/mulch anyone?

Has anyone used the coco chips/ mulch? My issues with coir is it always held too much moisture. I’m wondering if this can be a solution.

No but I might be careful about disease, the mulch might have too much fungus, if you are starting cuttings.
If you're having problems with coir let it sit in a cloth bag for a day or two in the shade, elevated so the water can runout more easily. Then add in 20-30% more dry coir that should put you about 80% or 70% field capacity.

Is this coco coir chips or cocoa chips? If the latter it is not good for plants even though the garden smelled great of chocolate. Caused a lot of fungus for me and a lot got root rot over winter.

If you're referring to the shredded coco husk that they sell for terrariums, even the stuff they say is low salt has a high TDS on first rinse (I got ~800 ppm in the soak water, cheapo Amazon TDS meter). I had to soak and rinse a few times to get it below 100 ppm.

I’m looking for an alternative to using pine bark nuggets in my uppotting mix because I can’t seem to find the tiny fine nuggets anymore. I work for a tree care company maybe I’ll have one of the crews throw some pine through the chippers and see what it comes out looking like.
