A big shout out to both 9ah-figlet and FigVicious, whose donations are the primary source for the Santa's Reindeer Games at this time
This is a daily, two part contest.
The rules:
1) For each day of the contests, I will put together a package of approximately 15 cuttings that will be part of that day's contest. It is very likely that only 1 stick for each cultivar will be available each day so that we get as many different varieties as possible into the hands of more members. An exception might be I-258, RdB, or YLN, for which I have a good number of each.
2) Santa had 9 reindeer pulling his sleigh: Dasher, Dancer, Vixen, Prancer, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and Rudolph. Using Wheelofnames.com, a random reindeer was chosen for each contest date. Part 1: Members who want to participate in that day's contest simply guess which reindeer was chosen for that date. Members who correctly guess the reindeer of the day, will be considered as “SEMI-FINALISTS”. Part 2: If more than one member correctly guesses the deer of the day (MORE THAN ONE SEMI-FINALIST), the names of those members will be entered into the same wheel and a single, random winner will be chosen. If there are no winning guesses, I will re-spin the wheel with reindeer names until at least one correct guess occurs.
3) Each daily contest will be open for guesses until 9:00pm, Eastern Standard Time. I will do my best to post the winning member's name later that evening.
4) Open to all US members, but a member may only win once each week (Sunday through Saturday).
5) Winner would agree to pay a flat shipping rate of $10 to cover actual shipping costs and supplies (padded mailers, etc)
6) Any excess shipping fees will be applied to other, future giveaways which will offer FREE SHIPPING.
*All cuttings will have received a Spinosad bath, but it is recommended that members clean and sanitize their cuttings per their best practices.
Varieties in the December 24th Reindeer games include:
I-258 (2), Grosse Monstreuse de Lipari, de la Senyora (Senuera), Campaniere, Joule Noir, Ronde de Bordeaux, Italian Honey, Sal's Corleone, Gozo Girl, Capoll Curt Negra, Rossellino, Forza (Rocco's self-named most aggressive growing variety), Pastiliere, Uncle Corky's Honey Delight, and Parsotta Baja. If the winner did not receive any of the UNK Portuguese cuttings, I can include a few for you, if you would like to try these unknowns.
If you want to participate, please enter your guess for the randomly chosen reindeer for this contest of December 24th before tomorrow's 9:00pm deadline
By winning the Santa's Reindeer Games on December 23rd, we will not let DianaNE, or Wolfpacker77 or Camparicat play in any more reindeer games (until December 28th). Instead, it is time to cheer on the other members who will be participating in the remaining games this week.
Good luck to all in this season of giving. And while the CCGP offers these giveaways, please continue to support our members who run online cutting sales.
Please also participate in some of our online auctions to support a fellow figger who was severely injured in a house fire. This is an especially difficult time of year to be spending significant time in a hospital
