Who can tell me more about Borda Barraquer? That's a sexy looking fig.... I'd like to know how early/late it is...
 
@TorontoJoe It was the latest craze last year, everyone was selling out right away.
But you know how that goes...I believe it was one I tried to get but was too late to check out.
Very nice looking fig though!
I think @2Angels has it??...maybe she can give some insight to ripening times.
 
Borda Barraquer is among my favorite varieties as it sets loads of figs even on a young tree. It does ripen starting in early September in a high tunnel so I would consider it a mid to late season variety and it has a rich sweet berry flavor with jammy texture. It reminds me of Calderona but its flavor is more complex.
