CdD Mutante and Preto

Looks good! I have both. Birds got to the Preto figs before I could and I'm still waiting on my Mutante to produce (probably next year).

When does Mutante begin producing for you? I imagine its late even in your area?

My trees are young and in pots, and the oldest of the two I have I should have fertilized more this year. I probably would have had a few ripe figs, and then lost them to the birds (LOL). It is still going to be a little late, but I'm on the 7b/8a edge.

I am very happy to hear of your successful ripening of a mutante fig, most especially such a beautiful looking one. Also very pleased to hear of Drew's success With both first year trees. Applause :) Mutante, and Figo Preto continue to ellude me. I guess you can put me in the Kevin Camp since I have not been successful propagating either fig variety. I got close with mutante, but it suddenly developed something that looked like a crown gall symptoms. Leaving me alone with my agricultural ambitions.

Figology thank you so very much it's greatly appreciated. I've been trying to figure out how to clear all my private messages. I'm afraid I'll miss something important, like this message right here. LOL I have become a message hoarder.

Congrats on such an amazing looking figs.  I have always found the striped figs to be a little more pleasing to the eyes.  Thank you for sharing the look. Hope to one day be able to root this one myself.

@Figology, thank you for the response.  I have been fascinated by variegated trees for a while.  When I heard about figs being striped, I had to look into them.  I hope to one day be able to get a cutting to root.
