Burgan Unk.

@"Figology"#21. Burgan Unk looks delicious, at least the piece the Critter left you. Did you get a chance to ripen any other Burgan Unk fig fruit this year, or was this the only one? Either way it looks like a winner congratulations.

I'm finding out I have skunks, squirrels, possums, Raccoons, and who knows maybe even a few rats. Critters seem to be attractive to fig fruit trees.

This is one of those figs you hear just isnt worth it if its not pollinated, you find that to be true?

I would highly recommend that, all fig growers from wasp country mark their fig reviews as "pollinated" or not.  Fig pollination makes a huge difference, could be day and night difference.

I've seen various reviews on this variety.  The original reviews (and videos) were based on pollinated figs directly shipped by the promoter from California.  Then we've seen very different reviews from growers out of wasp country.

Other than this, I do not have much comment since I do not grow it.

@"ktrain"#2  around the last week of August it started to ripen this year. It has been putting on a lot of growth past couple of years and delays the figlets a bit. Next year barring not much die back I believe it should be earlier. This one like most of my in grounds are in the sweet spot. South facing a few feet away from a wall. One thing I do not like about this variety is that it gets soft and begins to disconnect from the stem a bit even before good ripeness. So they fall off easily. I will monitor next year how it does as it will be year 3 in ground.

@"ktrain"#2  Winter of 22 had die back all the way and was slow to get going and barely put on growth. Winter of 23 had no die back at all and in 2024 just wanted to keep growing.

I believe I've heard that before about them not hanging on very well.
I did consider this variety at one point.
I'll wait and see how yours does next season.
