Breeding Figs.

If a persistent Caprifig is a hermaphrodite. Could you save pollen from one persistent Caprifig and pollinate another to possiblly achieve a higher rate of persistent Caprifig offspring?
I am not sure that hermaphrodite is the correct term. But you can take pollen from one Capri and pollinate another. I have seedlings from a cross of two persistent Capri growing right now.

I am not sure either, I only used that term as I had read In one paper posted here on Caprifigs, the term hermaphroditic was used.
The figs have both male and female flowers. But I don’t think that qualifies as hermaphrodite. It would be like a tree that produces both male and female flowers. A good discussion for another time. :)
