Black Kow

I use Black Kow compost manure for my potted fig trees. It is good but be careful when it get close to summer, sometimes the compost manure is not allowed to compost very well, you will see lots of leaves when you opened the bag. Two years ago I returned a bag back to Lowe's full of leaves.

I use this brand exclusively in my vegetable garden. So far not in my fig pots. I have considered it, but never got around to doing it. I found that other less expensive brands have a lot of sand mixed in it and this one doesn't.

I just use it for my raised beds but if I’m out of mushroom compost, I’ll use that but the ratio to peat moss/soil is less than the mushroom compost It’s like 10% as opposed to 20%.

We used it until we went to raised beds and I started doing all the containers. I switched to a more affordable compost I can buy by the truckload. If I used it in containers I would mix a lot of other amendments with it.
