Big Celeste Cutting Update

This is the Celeste branch that I put in the ground on April 18 is the first pic the second & third is this morning.

There’s like 5-6 figs on it right now. Figured I’d just let the tree do its thing. It knows better than I do what it wants to do.

Haha not quite. It was growing low on my dad’s tree and had a rootball the size of a softball. So he lopped it off and stuck it in a pot. Then he gave it to me I let it sit in the pot for like 2 weeks and then threw it in the ground. The rootball had gotten massive in the maybe 3-4 gallon Monrovia pot. The pot was completely full of roots. It seems quite happy in this spot. I figured I’d let it do its thing this year, and possibly next year too to get established, then start shaping it the way I’d like it to be.

This spot is pretty cool because when we set up the hammock it’ll be right behind us. Chilling in the hammock and eating fresh figs sounds pretty good to me.
 
If anyone needs plane Jane Celeste cuttings let me know. I can send you a branch off my dad’s tree. Lmao.
