Are these profichi figs?

This is my Capri Q tree. I am wanting to grow some profichi figs to use for pollination. Are these figs that grew on the tree this summer the profichi figs that I will use in the spring to pollinate? If not, do I need to pick these off to give room for more figs to grow?

Cheers!

That looks to be the mammoni crop. Profichi grow on last years wood.
Ahh. So in order to get profichi figs, since this wood grew this year, I will pick these figs off and then any new figs that grow on this stalk will be profichi. Is that correct? Will I be able to use those profichi that develop next spring or will I have to wait another year?

Profichi, schmamichi, mammoni, papponi, mamme, schmamme... geez, I get so confused... :ROFLMAO:

Can't we just call it breba? Or caprifig breba? Breba is the crop you need to get pollen. That's it. Very simple.
Alrighty. I’m a simple man that just wants to eat ripe figs. I’m listening. 🤣

So what you’re saying is that I can extract pollen from breba figs and hand pollinate main crop figs. Or is it more complicated.

Yes that is correct. The new figs that grow on the older wood will be profichi or as @Figgin' A said Caprifig breba.

Ok. Capri Q (or other caprifig) breba for harvesting pollen for pollination next summer. Thank you everyone for clearing that up for me!
