I’ve been here in Staunton and never seen it at any stores. I can understand why you did. In the lat 1800’s most of the Sicilian Italians immigrated to Louisiana. At that time there was more Italian people there than in New York.I bought it from a store here locally before. It was good.
Y'all don't have something like fresh market? Here it is a over priced store. But they have some neat fruit and veggies from time to time.I’ve been here in Staunton and never seen it at any stores. We have a farmers market that sets up in a large parking lot every Saturday, maybe one day I’ll have to check it out. Not a lot of Italian people here.Y'all don't have something like fresh market? Here it is an over priced store. But they have some neat fruit and veggies from time to time.
Kinda like when you hang a bird feeder in your yard and you get a lot of squirrels.Certo. E facile da trovare in Sicilia.
Yeah... it's pretty common in the Italian south...
Sorry about the lack of Italians in your area. If you want to encourage more to move into the neighbourhood... Just hang a sign on your front porch that reads, "free soppressata". Before you know it they'll be everywhere![]()

Italian, But the language stopped with my grandparents on my fathers side. They only taught the kids english.More Italians than in NY? So they got the Italians and the (Franco)Canadians (Cajuns)? Somehow I feel I should have right to residence in LA... I would seem to check all the boxes... Hmmm
Now I need to know from @GoodFriendMike if the name Lamonte is of the French-Canadian or the Italian origin.... Hmmmm![]()
Same here, my mother spoke fluent Neapolitan dialect, when she married my father he not Italian he’s a Yankee from New Hampshire so she didn’t teach my brothers or me. In my teenage years I wanted to learn so she taught me some things. If I grew up speaking it I would have spoken it to my children so they could truly identify with their heritage.Italian, But the language stopped with my grandparents on my fathers side. My dad wished they would have taught him and there other kids. But they wanted a way to talk without the kids knowing what was being said.Same here, my mother spoke fluent Neapolitan dialect, when she married my father he not Italian he’s a Yankee from New Hampshire so she didn’t teach my brothers or me.
