Another round of storms

I just got a Severe Thunderstorm watch for Staunton on my phone. We’ve been getting them every afternoon now. 3 days ago we go one so strong the rain was blowing extremely hard that it was coming down sideways I thought it was turning into a tornado. One of my husband’s customers arrived Just as it hit. Boy did he run fast. My phone weather app shows thunderstorms every day as far as Wednesday next week. It’s always something.🫩

Which weather app do you use? I have tried couples but they are pretty bad. I heard local Tornado sirens and then mins later, weather "forecast" was updated to severe weather and only got the official warning after hiding for over 5 mins.

Last year, one of the nightly temperature forecast was 20+ degrees off. That was between 40s at night to actual temperature being in the 20s. Fortunately, I just felt the temperature had been dropping too quickly in the previous hours and decided to move the young plants inside and just ignore that forecast.

I use the local news station out of Charlottesville. News 29 NBC.

Thanks for the idea. After reading up on reviews, the local NBC here is not very good with their app. They were good a few years ago and then now, they overlay ads on top of the weather map, which makes it hard to read, not to mention the annoying factor.

Someone suggest CBS 11 is better. I am going to try them.

I used weather channel, accuweather and weather underground before when I was in NJ. Weather underground was the best among the 3 but the other 2 were not too bad most of the time. But not here, I gave up on their "forecast". I can do a better forecast just looking outside when I see dark clouds everywhere, wind picking up while their "forecast" was sunny weather with 5% of rain.

@Figgerlickinggood , and all y'all. I'm completely jealous stuck here in California with perfect weather every day. Maybe we could send your fig trees, mulberry's, and your cherimoyas to a boring California vacation so they will appreciate all your lovely extreme weather events this summer. Oh yes I almost forgot, and a amusing little case of BFF on the side like hash browns.

We had a thunderstorm last weekend and then followed by fog and cloudy days. Now, the sun is out but with 45-50mph wind. I have to keep the tall trees inside to avoid them being pruned by the wind.

Well, the 45mph wind knocked down a few shorter trees, only lost couple fruits. But this morning, I found out I also lost a short graft, which I didn't expect because it was in a sheltered area and was only a few inches tall. I'll see if I can fix it. The other grafts were fine though.
