Acerola

I was trying to get one, however, there is only one tropical fruit collector in the Czech Republic that sells it, so it keeps slipping through my fingers all the time. I would love to get one, though.

It is not my favorite as far as flavor. But I do like them and they are very productive. Worth growing.

Well, I'm growing couple of Eugenias - Cherry of Rio Grande, orange Surinam cherry, Eugenia Pyriformis and Eugenia Squamiflora, but I haven't had any fruit from them, yet. Based on what I've seen online and what I generally like on fruit, I will likely prefer Eugenia pyriformis, but who knows...

I have a few Surinam cherries growing. All from seed. Another productive grower with good but not great fruit. Make sure you pick these fully ripe. If not you really won't like them.

I have a 7 gallon tree! The whole tree is gorgeous when in full flower! Very tart fruit though, but still probably the best ‘cherry’ we can grow here where there's usually too few chill hours for European sweet cherries.

The acerola’s the 7 gallon, yup! I have 2 sweet cherries, Lapins and Royal Crimson (both reportedly low-chill), but the acerola’s the only one that’s fruited (at all) thus far.

You can definitely grow the acerola in Zone 10a. I would check your amount of chill hours if you want sweet cherries.
