A lesson for my other trees....

Most of my tree's look like that right now.
Except the seedling's. They got covered.
Good thing is. I do not think I have any die back.
Except for some green wood. I am thinking
I might fertilize this weekend and hope we do not get another freeze.
Would be nice to have a really early start. :)

It's been down to -18c (0f) here and these are frozen solid to the ground. I might fertilize this weekend as well

Dang, if that's not setting an example I don't know what is. lol
I have about 12 or so that were left outside.
If they survive than I suppose that's one more year of underperforming for them.
Not so sure they will....survive.

To be continued...

You want me to send my guy down to teach them a little Sicilian? ;)

Quite a lesson!

Tangential: I have a friend who leaves a Little Ruby outside all winter, unprotected, here in Zone 7a. We've had some serious cold spells and unusual warming spells over the past many winters, plus heavy winds, ice, etc. and that darn thing chugs right along without pause. It's shocking to me that some of the fig types (having evolved in a Mediterranean climate) are so cold hardy.

Wow time to fertilize already? I guess it can't hurt them..

The temps are going to be 60’s for high’s and 40’s for lows starting this Saturday.
So the trees should start pushing out new growth.
Just hoping we don’t get any more lows in the teen’s. Also supposed to rain a couple days next week.
Perfect time to fertilize. :)
