Most of my tree's look like that right now.
Except the seedling's. They got covered.
Good thing is. I do not think I have any die back.
Except for some green wood. I am thinking
I might fertilize this weekend and hope we do not get another freeze.
Would be nice to have a really early start.![]()
Hmm? I bet they make a full recovery and give you one really tasty fig per tree. It's been down to -18c (0f) here and these are frozen solid to the ground. I might fertilize this weekend as well![]()
This is what happens to them if they underperform!

I think I'm I'm going to put one of the garage trees in the window so it can see and tell the others![]()
One fig per tree is why they're out there in the first placeHmm? I bet they make a full recovery and give you one really tasty fig per tree.
Just so you keep them for another couple of years.![]()
Be nicer to them. Poor trees out in the cold while watching there friends get all tucked it.One fig per tree is why they're out there in the first place![]()
If they survive, they get to be root stock come springIf they survive then who will be laughing?
Dang, if that's not setting an example I don't know what is. lol
I have about 12 or so that were left outside.
If they survive than I suppose that's one more year of underperforming for them.
Not so sure they will....survive.
To be continued...
Damn - that sure is cold blooded!
Did you hit them with the Arnold voice when you said the following lines...
Quite a lesson!
Tangential: I have a friend who leaves a Little Ruby outside all winter, unprotected, here in Zone 7a. We've had some serious cold spells and unusual warming spells over the past many winters, plus heavy winds, ice, etc. and that darn thing chugs right along without pause. It's shocking to me that some of the fig types (having evolved in a Mediterranean climate) are so cold hardy.
Is it in a container? Does it ripen fruit as well?
Thats wild
Wow time to fertilize already? I guess it can't hurt them..Most of my tree's look like that right now.

I brought mine indoors during our historic snow storm. If we ever get snow again, I’ll do the same as you and leave the underperforming ones out! LolThis is what happens to them if they underperform!
