505-H

GREW "SISTERS" for some time (no longer) other than simular size and color did not see the same perpensity for mule figs or that they where that tastey .BEST i remember SISTERS had a pink ostiale more so than 505-H .I think SISTERS was a wild seedling where 505-H is a heratige fig .

Yeah, My sisters has yet to produce any mule figs. They are small but the flavor reminds me of the WB description. I do think you are right that it was a seedling find where WB and 505 H are heritage figs.

REALY LETING 505-H shrivel and droup before eating now ,good solid (9) prety strong peach/ light berry flavor almost necktarine taste .anyway thats why i have 3 inground trees all or part 505-H almost to tall to reach . PS: FIRST UCHD(main crop) today (9) and SMITH (9 TO 10+) LAST WHITE MARSALASE (9) FIRST WM #1 (8.5) .LOVE EATING FIGS! Had first ever NATALINA yesterday (8.5) could use 2 more days . SORRY NO PICS ,NO DIGITAL CAMERA OR SKILL TO POST HERE .

I haven't seen any mule figs on my white baca yet. Fruit looks like it wont be very small, but on the small to medium size. Its producing uniform sized fruit

@Hmmm looks like WB might not be 505 h after all.
I think it's too early to tell. Chances are they are closely related if not identical, especially judging by the taste descriptions. I doubt 1 year is going to settle this though. Fig Gazer might be the best person to get us the most accurate information, but I would think at minimum 2nd year White Baca with healthy fruit set would be required. I'm confident I can get a couple of my trees to set a lot of fruit next year, but I don't have a good fruiting 505h, at least not this year.

I think the real question that needs to be answered is this. How much more peach flavor and sweetness will white baca have than 505H?And how much earlier is White Baca. Marco, growing in Northeast says that White Baca has a 60 day ripening time. My largest tree has bark that is undergoing lignification far faster than nearly all my 1000+ trees. The medium white baca trees I have are about average hardening up. I think white baca has a good chance to be above average cold hardy. It also appears to be a productive fig because most of my trees have fruit (a couple not so much and the animals got them) but a few others have a lot of fruit and I've been pumping them full of nitrogen all year..lol.
