    When should I air layer?

    I decided to headstart a few of my trees inside the house in front of a south facing window with lots of sun. They are just starting to bud out. I am wanting to air layer them this year to shorten the main whip. Should I start the air layer now or should I wait a few more weeks? Cheers!
