PrimeArk Freedom Blackberry Cuttings Free-ish

Anyone have any luck rooting these or just top growth only?
They are DEFINITELY growing very well in the fig pops, but I have discovered they seem to be sensitive to too much moisture. No roots yet, but not expecting any yet- the cuttings I used were VERY thin, and I fill the bags up pretty full.

My blackberry cuttings have beautiful top growth but no roots either. I’ve sorta been heavy on the water and they’ve been fine. I haven’t worried much about them since supposedly they are easy to root. I’m thinking I should be seeing some roots soon though.

Texas Prepper 2 on Youtube shows how he starts them from cuttings. It's been some years since I watched those and tried it, but he uses softwood cuttings? and interment mist outdoors in the shade. You guys might check out his videos.

I’ve watched many of his videos. He’s the guy I learned to make my cattle panel greenhouse from. He loves this blackberry variety too.

Yes. He's over in East Texas - somewhere around Longview or Tyler I think. He's a big fan of Ponca and PrimeArk. To me, the first year fruit isn't a big deal, so I'm going to try and add Ponca next. We have been growing Ouachita for about 6 years now.

These prime arc blackberry cuttings are the darndest things, and how they are so determined to fruit!!

I keep cutting off the flowers and the berries that they are making, in the hopes of encouraging root growth, but no roots grow, and then they keep making bigger flowers!!!!

So I decided to stop fighting them and just let them do their thing and we will see!

I did that when I had extra ones rooted. The fruits did stall growth compared to the ones I removed the fruiting/flowering buds.

I’ve pulled off flowers too. Still no roots on mine. Some are turning brown and dying from top down. I have a thick one that looks really good but still no signs of roots 😤

Same here. One died by turning brown from top down. I performed post-mortem: there were no roots, but not rot either...just the same brown streak from the top down that extinguished the cutting.

I read that Blackberries are easier and faster to root from cuttings than figs. So far, this has not been the case.

I have a couple that show green growth, apart from the buds/flowers (which I remove). Still no roots in sight.

The learning continues... :)
