Portuguese Unknowns #1 - #5

Shout out to opiem10 and his Santa's Reindeer Games! Received a package of Portuguese Unknowns yesterday and can't wait to see how well they grow in the Ozarks, zone 7a. Hoping I can grow them out this year and have lots of cuttings to give away next winter.

Looks like we are both gonna be growing them here. Some of them #1 and #4 are straight logs he sent. They already sitting on the heating mat.

I got mine yesterday and didn't know because my husband got them. When I got up this morning the were all laid out and labeled and ready to stick!
You guys are awesome thank you so much for doing all that. I can only imagine all the work it took cut and sort and package. You are much appreciated.

Same here. Got the package yesterday. Labeled and drying each cutting. I'm kind of intimidated by the logs in the package.

It took about 20 minutes—much easier than rooting. No soil, no bags.

I got the cuttings of 1-2-3 in fig pops after the rain cleared out, then darkness got me

 

[Opiem10]

It will be very interesting to see how these cuttings take off when grafted or fig popped. As well, members can report if the thinner or thicker cuttings did better for them.

Thank you to Opiem 10 for the hardy UNK Portuguese cuttings that I received today. I am sure it was a very time consuming operation.

I can't wait to start to root them outdoors after April. They look like they could be the start of a tree with the fig cuttings size.

I hope we can all compare pictures as these "Trees" grow in different areas.

The picture can be expanded to see the last two varieties.
