What is your WL?

My Wish List is: Hative d’Aregenteuil, Smith, Azores black, Celeste because it’s an early staple variety, Violette de Bordeaux (since I thought I had one but turned out to be brown turkey), Colonel Littmans Black Cross, perhaps some other exotic flavors like banana, tropical, or something like raspberry latte. I still haven’t tasted a non-store bought fig though so Black Mission, Brown Turkey, and Kadota picked unripe is all I know…
Oh I have Celeste!!!! I just rooted my first cutting off my own tree. I can send you a few cuttings i have a few branches that are lignified and I was going to put more to root tomorrow if you want it message me. I will send you pictures. It's a huge two year bushy tree and we've had 47 main crop yummy figs!PXL_20251002_154047944.jpg

Message me if you want cuttings I can get them out to you but someone needs to tell me the best way to package and send them
Wow, that’s so incredibly kind of you. I’m willing to pay for shipping or any other necessary costs of course. I’m amazed by the generosity of fig enthusiasts on this forum. Perhaps we can work out an arrangement.

I am new to figs so I have some first year figs I have all about two feet tell- HdA and white Madeira #1, and white Marseilles and Tena and Mary Lane and black Zadar and Italian ever bearing . So I am hoping next year I'll have others to share. I' cut off their tops and getting little branches. So looking good.Plus a couple I don't trust from Etsy before I knew better. I don't care about the shipping. Pay it forward but I just need someone to tell me what to do. I got some cuttings and they were fresh cut lignified about six nodes and all wrapped tightly in saran wrap. Half are popping out llittle leaves after two weeks and they felt warm with delivered but I think even with our heat they'll be fine. Does that sound right? And I would send them priority? I'm in Texas I think Alabama is pretty close in temp. I'm thinking if priority should be fine . Send me your address in a message and I'll talk to my husband about whether he can get to the shipping place Monday Tues or Wednesday. I'll cut and get them shipped same day

Not a Celeste

Why not a Celeste? I bought it from my local nursery where they only had Celeste and Brown turkey and it was a reputable nursery. What's different?

Should look more like this
Well it was a later ripener. I thought that was just because it was young. And the outside never gets that dark it stays rose colored and gets brown spots I guess you can't trust even the good nursery or someone switched a tag 😞 I'm glad someone told me though. Think I'm going to have to check with you guys on every fig I grow. I guess I need a Celeste now

Well I guess mines not Celeste. Another reason to show the group pictures of my figs when they grow out. Sorry it's not what you were looking for. But I'm glad I put pictures and someone set me straight!

Thanks - I’ve heard of it before, but never bothered looking into it. Some off-season research and possible rooting in my future.
Lampeira 1 is supposed to be cold hardy. I have a 2nd year tree in a container going to put it inground this spring. Very productive and great tasting figs. I put a 2nd year DLSH inground this spring so I'll see how it fairs this winter.

I am not saying that your tree is a Celeste. By looking at those figs of yours I would definitely say they are not, but my Celeste tree, for some reason just produced a fig that looks just like yours. My tree is definitely 100% Celeste. Below are pics of the fig (that looks like yours) that I picked today and ate. It was delicious btw. If I only post the pic of the fig I picked today, there will probably be someone saying that my tree is not a Celeste, so below is also is a pic of figs earlier this season from the same tree.

Here is a side by side view. They look the same to me. Although mine was an anomaly. The tree doesn't normally produce figs like this.

Here is mine. Although I don't really think I should add this many to my collection 🤔

Green Michurinska
Unk Prosciutto
De Tres Esplets
Paradiso Bronze
Hollier
Angelito
Adriatic JH
Socorro Black
De La Senyora Hivernenca
Zaffiro
Azores Dark
Negra d'Agde
CLBC
De Tres Esplets is so amazing.
When I bit into it, I was like a blithering idiot, eyes wide open, just saying, WOW!!! Oh, WOW!! OMG! WOW!!! Over and over again.

Seriously, it was like all my taste buds were firing, with different flavors coming on from the initial taste to the middle to the end. Ah-mazing!!

And I have come to learn each crop tastes differently, so I’m curious what the breba crop and the second main crop taste like!

Weird. So I grow it another season and send pics again and we see what it looks like next year. Maybe it was just the weather. Still really good figs and I am so glad I found figs. It's drought tolerant and made up for three years on dead tomatoes and feeling like a garden failure 😂

I would definitely keep growing it and see what it does next year.
