Good Deals

MadaFigFarm is a great guy. I’ve visited him several times and probably a third or more of my collection came from him. He’s got Figs out the ears!!! I’m sure he will have more for sale. Once Cuttings are done, it’s Airlayers. Then cuttings in winter. His collection keeps growing, I wanna say he probably has the most varieties I’ve seen in person other than OTBP.
I need to visit places like this. Just to see I am not the only one with more fig trees than blades of grass. :)

Kremp has Azores Dark right now for $30. Some of these I post, not because it's a smokin' hot deal, but because it's a good variety at a decent price that I don't see available many other places, if any at all.
I just sold an Azores dark air layer from last year on figbid in 4x9, had to use a 36 inch box and it only brought 37 for a bid surprisingly. Prices are all over the board.

Kremp just added a bunch of good ones, I258, CLBC, Craven's Craving, Black Madeira KK, Campanerie, Blue Celeste, Blanche de Deux Saisons, Figo Preto, Socorro Black, and some CDD. $35-$55

I feel like I’m late to the thread and missed the deals😆😆 specifically bmkk. I can’t for the life of me get that one to root.

I have only bought two from them. The other one I bought a few days ago, so haven't gotten either of them yet. From everything I've read, they are a reputable nursery.

I’ve heard of mixed reviews from them honestly, majority good though. I’ve seen a handful of people not get what they paid for though, I usually try to stay away from Kremp but it’s all personal preference. Im sure it was a mistake or two :)

The owner is a long time member at the other place. If that means anything. I'm just saying it's not just a florist company that decided to sell figs one day. I got the Violeta from them today. It's very healthy, was packaged good, and included detailed instructions. I also purchased BMKK from them that should ship soon.

I spend a lot of time shopping around online for figs. When I see something that looks like a good deal, I feel like sharing that info with the forum. I don't think posts about figs that I find for sale go against the rules, as long as I'm not selling on the forum. If this goes against the rules, moderators please delete the thread.

I prefer to look at fig trees on figbid that have fixed prices and buy now option. That's just my preference. I'm sure you can often get better deals when bidding.

There is WM#1 and De Tres Esplets for $25 fixed price and $12 shipping. I just noticed while writing this that all of those WM#1 are already gone. They go fast and I will post what I see when I see it. If anyone else knows of some good deals, post them here please.
Who is the seller with de tres eplets for $25

I bought the DTE from the seller and it just arrived today. Looks healthy but green growth is short.
No disrespect in any direction but the one listed I would personally be scared to ship out. Seems they are still fragile at that stage and I would worry about shipping it. Hoping it survives well for you 👍

As many figgers would say that there's no such thing as BMKK. Everything can be traced back to the USDA. It's more luck and growing environment(climate, fertilizartion, etc).
After a grower I respect said that her BM tasted more intense than her CC, I was wondering if the FMV load in a variety could affect the taste of the figs, I went to get a tiny BM sourced from the USDA this past winter. The darn thing took off and set couple main crop figs already.

It does look healthy and strong. I am just hoping I dont kill it.
I bought a grafted Angelito on UNK rootstock in 1 gal nursery pot on figbid and I thought, that is a good deal but the growth was still green, thin and about 12". The seller had to bend it down to fit in the box. Unfortunately, that green growth did break off. At that fig addicted moment (lol), I thought it was a good deal so hopefully new growth will pop out within the next 2 weeks.

Considering how this fig has performed for me, I think $40 is a bargain... It's definitely on the podium of my Adriatic types up here.

Hold on... I have a pic somewhere of a nice, ripe one from a while back.

This is one you want to zoom in on if you can...
They sold out fast. Maybe they will have some more. IIRC, NJ Fig Farm is the original source of Unk Prosciutto and 3 gallon that seems hard to pass up.

Yep! That's one of NJ Fig Farm's back yard finds... I think in some cases... at least way back he'd offer to prune peoples trees in exchange for the cuttings. Quite brilliant really

I was thinking of air layering mine and selling for 30 this summer on figbid. If you’re wanting this one I can probably work out a lower price and not have to fight the crazy bidders lol call it a forum special 👌

I saw a beautiful huge in ground fig tree in a front yard here in town. I thought about going back and knocking on the door to ask if I could get a few cuttings, but I don't think in Texas it's as likely to find a cool variety imported from Europe like it is back east. In Texas it's likely to be a Brown Turkey or Celeste or something. In the north east it could be anything. I think that guy in NJ had the right idea. Sounds like he found a good one with that Unk Prosciutto.
