BNR

My rooted cutting did not make it through the winter in my garage.
It's all good....variegated varieties don't do well for me here in the south.
I think that was my last one, got rid of all the others.
Oh, too bad. They look so cool. I went on a roll with variegated varieties this season and rooted BNR, Panache, Paratjal Rimada, and CDD Mutante… and I think there was one more that I can’t quite remember which. I hope at least one grows well here.

They are so goood when you can get them to ripen. A greenhouse helps for headstart and late extension.

Their only downside is splitting!!!
Season length is not an issue, mine is super long with a very early head start. The biggest concern is can it ripen properly in my climate. Splitting is bad news but if I can time it to ripen in late July to second week of September, it should work. I also bought a few transparent umbrellas from Temu to protect some trees from splitting. Who knows, it may work. 😆

I chopped my 3rd leaf Mutante to the soil line last season, because I could never get it to set figs and once it did, they wouldn't even get close to ripening. I never removed the soil from the pot over winter and a shoot popped up this spring. I'm gonna give it one more shot. Maybe it just needed to know I was serious. I really like the look of the Mutante fig

I don't know what it is about the striped figs here, they seem to hate the humidity more than all others.
Maybe in a more controlled environment....I may try again one day.

Well then you got it!

CDD Rimada, Martinenca Rimada, Popone are ones I didn’t see you list. 😆 RDS PB also.

What a good looking sexy fig :)
I am trying to root Rigato Del Salento. Failed with my cutting but salvaged the top half of the cutting and trying to water root it now.
This one never came up on my radar for some reason. Why did you pick it?

I read a lot of people say its one of the earlier striped figs plus its from Paolo Belloni's Pomono Gardens. I thought he would only grow good quality figs.
It’s highly productive! Pretty good split resistant. As it matures more and more Breba crop from it too!
