Next winter storm forming

It looks like we are going to get a few inches on snow. Friday is a remote day for me. Just my luck and no snow day excuse not to go in.
They already know I most likely won't be in, just depends on when and how much. lol

Teresa your weather warnings are worth their weight in gold. Even out here in California they are useful to me to keep up with my friends and relatives indifferent climates and winter weather conditions.

I wonder if our Southern fig growers should consider moving up north. In NJ, we may get a flurry on Saturday with a high temp around 36F. Downright balmy!

We just had rain and sleet since around 7 am here in Dallas. Several inches of house drip from the edge of a rooftoop have filled a container i left sitting... and with temps hovering at just above freezing... then suddenly 32F around 4pm which means the wet soggy sheets freeze over... ice all night until late morning and then we thaw by late morning tomorrow

Back into the 40s by Saturday, 50s by Tuesday. I was only concerned for anything uri-like...this is typical. Not even really a deep freeze only short range dips to around 22F, three of them..third nightly low in the bottom of the 20s is tomorrow but not cold enough for me to pull out the new plastic I bought for the hoophouse which I'm happier to save for the next polar vortex, if necessary..

Uri took us to our lowest low... whereas it never was below around 13F, i think 11F once maybe??? Uri took us to 2F here and parts of Dallas saw below 0... plants even in the edge of the garage turned to Popsicles pipes weren't prepped , water heaters placed at the edge of garages, froze

Despite easy winter here You guys have it made up north with one long continuous growing season vs the two shorter ones we get here. On the flip side there couldn't be a better temp range for testing hardiness of several trees and small branches so far...low 20s doesn't seem to bother much and now with an ice coating... will know soon enough..

the hoophpuse filled with smaller container plants ... that i maybe should not have worried about... a few cacti and citrus ...

another storm? not even crossing my fingers ... t-shirt is ready for the weekend 😎 worst come to worst I have to move more plants and unbox the plastic

It does not usually happen here, this will be only the 2nd time in 10 years of living in Georgia.
Hoping for the best.
Ice with snow on top is the worst. We’ll see how it shakes out, and I’ll a little north of you. My girls are excited for snow.
